PLANT CHROMA CODES. 2020.

PLANT CHROMA CODES COLOUR FIELD INSTALLATION is an installation of colour from nature extracted from plants, weeds and food waste by Joanna Fowles for Sydney Craft Week 2020 as part of The Superlocalstudio Sweet Nature program.

Chroma Codes showcases the colour potential of urban foraged materials as alternative dyes. Swatches of colour are meticulously hand-painted and dyed to create an immersive colour library of unique Plant Chroma Codes, a distillation of plant material and place.

This project is part of the Superlocalstudio program to promote local creative practice and encourage the appreciation of and solutions in nature. Promoting a shift toward nature influenced approaches, elevating the value of overlooked and undervalued materials from the natural environment explored through design practice and material enquiry.

October 10 to October 11 2020
